Looking at experiencing and perhaps being a trained teacher in the research based programs of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) & Mindful Self Compassion (MSC)

Beginning 2018, experience the MBSR & MSC program with experienced teachers and trainers from the University of California at San Diego Center for Mindfulness (UCSD CFM)

This is the beginning of the training pathway in MBSR and MSC offered by UCSD CFM here in India in collaboration with Just Being.

The first step is to experience the MBSR or MSC program for oneself. The programs in beginning 2018 is an opportunity to experience these evidence based approaches towards greater well-being.

These programs are also open to anyone who simply wants to enhance the way we relate to ourselves, to others and to life.

Navigating Life's Challenges (MBSR) is a 5-Day adaptation of the empirically-supported 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. In this program you will experience the key components of the 8-Week MBSR program as developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Participating in Navigating Life's Challenges is an ideal experience for anyone who does not have access to being able to participate in a formal 8-week MBSR program.

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an intensive 5-Day training version of an empirically-supported 8-week program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Based on groundbreaking research by Kristin Neff and integrated with the clinical perspective of Christopher Germer, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult emotions with kindness and understanding.


Dr. Steven Hickman

Steven Hickman, PsyD is a clinical psychologist and Associate Clinical Professor in the UC San Diego Departments of Psychiatry and Family Medicine & Public Health. He is the founder and Executive Director of the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness and the Director of Professional Training for the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. Dr. Hickman teaches Mindful Self-Compassion around the world and trains teachers in the program, in addition to speaking and teaching on the topic of mindfulness-based programs.

Dawn MacDonald

Dawn MacDonald, MSW, RSW, currently co-leads the Compassion Project, an innovative organizational change and development initiative of the Catholic Health Corporation of Manitoba designed to co-create the conditions for Compassion to flourish in Health and Human Services. She is a Certified Mindful Self Compassion Teacher and teacher trainer. Dawn also teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and has completed all the professional trainings at the Oasis Institute for Mindfulness-based Professional Education and Teacher Training. She is a Certified Compassion Cultivation Teacher by Stanford University's Center for Compassion Altruism Research and Education and a Senior Instructor for the Institute for Mindful Leadership.
