“True listening is another way of bringing stillness into a relationship. When you truly listen to someone, the dimension of stillness arises and becomes an essential part of the relationship”- Eckhart Tolle
By nature, human beings are wired for connection. As we remain attentive and receptive to what the other is sharing without wanting to change it or fix it, we convey to them that they are valued. And when we respond from a state of such connection, it allows for an inherent knowing and wisdom to shine through. Such listening, and relating to each other is truly transformative.
It is crucial for all kinds of relationships to thrive - parents and children, spouses or partners, colleagues, teachers and students or friends. It involves listening to ourselves as we listen to the other. It involves holding all that arises within us with a calm abiding, just as we do with the other, and thus listening is an act of being present both to the other and to ourselves. A deep connection arises between the listener and speaker, where both are held.
This two day workshop is a gentle yet deep dive into Embodied Listening and Relational Mindfulness where you will learn to:
- To be attentive to what happens within you as you listen
- To be receptive to what is being shared
- To respond authentically
- To allow for the inherent wisdom to be uncovered
